01 / A closer look
The chase Pikachu of Super Electric Breaker
This Japanese Pikachu ex is numbered 132/106 in Super Electric Breaker, set code SV8. The Special Art Rare treatment gives GIDORA’s illustration more space than a regular card frame. The number, language and printed artist credit distinguish this release from other Pikachu ex cards.
[3, 1]An ability that keeps it in play
Its ability means that if this Pikachu ex has full HP and would be knocked out by attack damage, it stays in play with 10 HP left instead.
[3]Topaz Bolt
Its attack does 300 damage and requires discarding 3 Energy attached to it.
[3]02 / Behind the artwork
GIDORA
GIDORA combines Pokémon illustration with character design and manga for game and entertainment projects.
GIDORA also publishes under the name ぎどら. The artist’s credited projects include Pokémon card illustration, ROAD59 character design and visual work for Last Cloudia. Bushiroad identifies GIDORA as the creator of the ROAD59 short manga Yonagi Ninkyōtan.
Charizard and Boltund V offer two further examples of the artist’s card work. Each gives a Pokémon and its trainer a shared scene; the linked manga provides a different format in which to explore the artist’s storytelling.
[5, 7, 3, 4]More cards. Same imagination.
Charizard’s orange body cuts across Leon, compressing both figures into a busy interior. Compared with Pikachu ex’s bright, solitary frontal pose, the overlapping bodies and bent limbs make this scene feel crowded and sociable.
Boltund’s large head fills the foreground while Sonia occupies a smaller space behind it, giving the scene a pronounced sense of depth. The warm highlights echo Pikachu ex’s yellow glow, but the low viewpoint and overlapping figures replace its open, frontal presentation.
Beyond the cards
Bushiroad’s published preview credits GIDORA with this manga, which follows the first stage production through Kaya’s viewpoint. The sample shows the artist’s dynamic panel composition.

About the evidence
- Sold listings are as reported by PriceCharting and were not individually checked; they are US eBay sales.
- Raw prices depend heavily on condition, which was not assessed.
- The card image is reference artwork, not the customer's card.
Population. The identified card is raw (ungraded); a PSA population report counts only graded copies, so there is no population for the card's own grade. The PSA 10 price is valued separately.[2]
