01 / A closer look
A Galarian Gallery card in the last Sword & Shield special set
Darkrai VSTAR GG50/GG70 is part of Crown Zenith’s Galarian Gallery. Pani Kobayashi illustrated this English Darkness-type card, which has 270 HP. Its gallery number is useful when comparing sales because other Darkrai prints are different collectibles.
[1, 3]Star Abyss
Its VSTAR Power, Star Abyss, lets the player put up to 2 Item cards from the discard pile into their hand once per game.
[3]Dark Pulse
Its attack, Dark Pulse, does 30 damage plus 30 more for each Darkness Energy attached to all of the player's Pokémon.
[3]02 / Behind the artwork
Pani Kobayashi
Pani Kobayashi brings a painter’s interest in animals, colour and imaginative natural worlds to Pokémon cards.
Pani Kobayashi is a painter and illustrator whose published biography connects Hakodate, fine-art study at Sapporo Otani and later work in Tokyo. Animation background painting preceded a freelance practice, with Pokémon card credits beginning in 2019.
The artist’s portfolio also documents original paintings and exhibitions. Bouquet and work from the 2016 Zoo Food Room show a continuing interest in creatures, plants and unexpected combinations of familiar subjects. The links below lead to the artist’s own presentation of those works.
[5, 7, 6, 3, 4]More cards. Same imagination.
Great Tusk stands small beneath a sweeping red-orange sky, so the surrounding landscape supplies much of the drama. Darkrai VSTAR places its figure much closer, but both cards use broad bands of luminous colour to make the environment as prominent as the Pokémon.
Cottonee’s pale, rounded body floats above slanting grass, with green leaves spreading to either side. Like Darkrai VSTAR, it suspends a central figure in a luminous setting, but the compact woolly silhouette and soft greens give the scene a gentler rhythm.
Beyond the cards
A creature’s head merges with leaves and flowers in a soft, textured arrangement, published in the artist’s own portfolio in January 2020.
A blue-eyed cat and a fish-shaped pastry bring animal portraiture and food together. The artist presents it as a work from the 2016 solo exhibition.
03 / The collector
Steady, liquid market
PriceCharting reports about one ungraded sale a day and about two PSA 10 sales a day for this card, so raw copies sell regularly and prices are easy to compare. TCGplayer sales listed on PriceCharting eased from about $90 to $108 in September to about $76 to $83 in late October 2026.

About the evidence
- Sold listings are as reported by PriceCharting and were not individually checked; they are US eBay sales.
- Raw prices depend heavily on condition, which was not assessed.
- The card image is reference artwork, not the customer's card.
Population. The identified card is raw (ungraded); a PSA population report counts only graded copies, so there is no population for an ungraded card.[2]
